Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Rome

The Short Version

I am based in Rome and have spent the past several years chronicling my experiences at fitness clubs throughout Italy.

This site came about because I grew weary of selecting gyms from advertising and general recommendations, only to learn that the reality didn't match the hype. I wanted concrete, honest details about what these venues were really like. When I couldn't find them, I chose to build them myself.

How This Started

My workout routine started in a compact club near Viale del Fitness 12 in Rome. It wasn't flawless, yet it was accessible and affordable, helping me maintain consistency.

After that club closed, I noticed how quickly the fitness landscape in Italy was changing. New clubs opened, fresh concepts emerged, and marketing campaigns grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began trying a variety of gyms and classes, jotting down notes after each visit. Those notes gradually became this website, designed to help others make better-informed decisions.

My Review Philosophy

Each review here is based on actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I concentrate on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Spend sufficient time to understand routines, peak times, and usage patterns
  • Visit on multiple days and at various times
  • Experiment with different training formats and instructors
  • Use facilities frequently to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about consistency and discrepancies
  • Take notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when major changes occur: renovations, changes in management, price updates, or new facilities. Each article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Value

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with clear boundaries and a calm vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Are repairs handled promptly?

Crowd Management: Is it possible to train during your preferred times without frequent waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management regards the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Transparent pricing, clear rules, and no unexpected surprises.

Beyond the Workout

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Rome. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make them more transparent for those seeking the right setting.
